Asus ZenFone Live announced as a ‘live-video streaming’ focused smartphone

After announcing the ZenFone AR and ZenFone 3 Zoom at CES, and the ZenFone 3S Max in India, Asus has announced yet another ZenFone.

The latest smartphone to be added to Asus’ portfolio is the ZenFone Live. As the name says, the smartphone has been made keeping in mind live video streaming. The smartphone comes with a built-in app called BeautyLive that is said to make live videos look better. The app can utilise the front or the back camera and is designed to apply the same beauty filters as one would find in most selfie focused smartphones, on a live videos stream.

The BeautyLive feature can also use the phone’s microphones to detect and remove any background noise while making live videos.

As for the cameras, there is a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front facing camera. The front camera features larger 1.4μm pixels to capture light efficiently, an 82-degree wide angle lens and a soft light LED flash.

The core specs of the smartphone include a 5-inch HD IPS display with a bluelight filter feature, a quad-core Qualcomm processor (unconfirmed version), 2GB of RAM, 16GB and 32GB storage options with expandable storage via microSD card (up to 128GB). It supports 4G LTE along with dual-SIM card slot, and features a 2,650mAh battery.

Pricing and availability of the ZenFone Live is yet to be confirmed.
