Google clarifies that being signed out of gmail is not part of any phishing attack

Were you automatically signed out of Google on mobile or web browser recently? If yes then Google has confirmed that you are not the only gmail user experiencing the same issue. Google has received a number of complaints reporting the same issue. The concerned users have reported this incident after fearing that they have lost access to their Google accounts.

The company detailed that the investigation is underway to find the issue that is signing people out of their accounts. Crystal Cee, a Google Employee confirmed in the Gmail Help Forums that there is no indication that this issue is part of any larger phishing scheme or security threat to Google account details.

Cee asked the users who are facing the same issue to try signing in at accounts.google.com. In case the users are unable to remember their password then they can use the Google account recovery to recover their password. Users with 2-step verification can experience some delay in receiving the SMS code so they can try again or instead use backup codes. The company is working diligently to ensure the safety of the data of its users by ensuring that users are following taking adequate security measures.
