Hyperloop One to host showcase event in India next week, Suresh Prabhu to be the main guest

Hyperloop One has sent official invites for the showcase event scheduled for 28 February. This showcase event is one of the three events across the world where the 35 teams that made it to Hyperloop One Global Challenge will present their technologies. Other two showcase events are set to take place in Washington DC and London. Judges will narrow the teams from current 35 to a dozen or so depending on the showcase and technology.

One interesting thing to note is that Suresh Prabhu, Minister of Indian Railways will be the guest of the event. Amitabh Kant, CEO of NITI Aayog will be the keynote speaker in the event addressing everyone. He will go on to discuss the ‘Vision for India’ from Hyperloop and where it can fit in, in the Indian context.

Shervin Pishevar, the Executive Chairman and Co-Founder of Hyperloop One will introduce the company and the driving force for the company. The event will happen in The Taj Mahal Hotel, New Delhi on 28 February with Rob Lloyd, former President for Cisco and current Board Member and Global CEO for Hyperloop One hosting the event.

Hyperloop is pegged to be the next revolutionary means of travel and we are excited at the prospect of the system coming to India. The company has been working on creating this new mode of transportation which is three to four times faster than high-speed rail along with amounting about 67 percentage of the cost to deploy and operate. The new mode of transportation will run on electricity along with very small environmental footprint.
