Lenovo to announce Moto G5 Plus in India on 15 March

Lenovo announced the new Moto G5 and G5 Plus on 26 February at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. We now have confirmation that the India launch is scheduled for next month, well at least for the Moto G5 Plus.

According to tweet by Moto India, the company is planning to announce the Moto G5 Plus for Indian customers on 15 March. The company has apparently started sending launch invites the the press. However, there is no mention if the company will announce the Moto G5 at the same event.

Anyhow, the new Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus are successors to last year’s models and feature a metal design. The Moto G5 features a 5-inch Full HD LCD display while the bigger Moto G5 Plus has a bigger 5.2-inch Full HD LCD display.

Inside there is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 chipset inside the Moto G5 while the bigger G5 Plus gets a 625. The Moto G5 was announced with 2GB/4GB RAM in 16GB or 32GB flavours. The Moto G5 Plus also available with 4GB RAM gets an upgrade here with the base storage at 32GB and the second option being a 64GB model. Both the models get support for storage expansion using a microSD card.

In the camera department, there is a 13MP f/2.0 camera with PDAF on the back and 5MP unit on the front. The G5 Plus gets a slightly better 12MP f/1.7 aperature unit with dual focus pixels.The G5 can record Full HD video while the Plus gets 4K recording.

Connectivity options include NFC, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and dual SIM slots.The Moto G5 gets a removable 2,800mAh battery while the G5 Plus model gets a sealed 3,000mAh battery. Running on Android 7.0 the handsets will also get Google Assistant soon.
