MWC 2017: Lenovo Yoga 720 and Yoga 520 is the new convertible range with Intel 7th gen processors
Lenovo announced a bunch of new notebooks updating its 2-in-1 range. The new products include the Yoga 520 and Yoga 720 laptops as well the low priced Miix 320. Let’s dive into what they offer.
Both the new Yoga notebooks feature the latest Intel’s seventh generation CPUs and run on Windows 10. While the Yoga 720 will be offered in 13-inch and 15-inch screen sizes, the Yoga 520 will arrive in 14-inch and 15-inch screen options. As always, both the series come with a hinge that can flip the display all the way back so you can use the notebook in a normal mode, tent mode, tablet mode and so on.
The Yoga 720 is the more premium lineup. The 15-inch variant gets an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 graphics along with the latest Intel processors. The 13-inch variant on the other hand gets the same Intel CPU options but only gets integrated Intel graphics. Both the laptops can be configured with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of HDD or 512GB of SSD storage. You also get Thunderbolt 3 ports that double as charging ports and fingerprint sensors for Windows Hello.
The 15-inch and the 13-inch models are available in 4K resolution displays and according to Lenovo offer 8 hours and 7 hours of battery respectively. There is also an option for a 1080p display which is said to add about 1 hour of battery life. Additionally, Lenovo has added support for and active stylus so the laptops can also make use of Windows Ink features.
The 13-inch Yoga 720 starts at 999 Euros (Rs 71,000 approx) while the 15-inch variant of the laptop starts at 1,099.99 Euros (Rs 78,000 approx) and will hit markets in the month of April.
The new Yoga 520 series is comparably affordable and comes in 14-inch and 15-inch screen sizes with up to FullHD screen resolution in 14-inch variants and 4K display resolution in 15-inch variants. Just like the 720 series, you get up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of HDD storage or 512GB of SSD storage and the latest Kaby-lake processors. Other features include USB Type-C, HDMI port, audio jack, 4-in-1 card reader and a fingerprint sensor with Windows Hello. Pricing for Lenovo Yoga 520 laptops start from 599 Euro (Rs 43,000 approx).
Finally, Lenovo announced the Miix 320. Its an affordable notebook where the display can detach and work independently as a tablet. It features a 10.1-inch full-HD display, an Intel Atom X5 processor with Intel HD graphics. There is 4GB of RAM inside with 128GB of eMMC storage. Lenovo says it offers 10 hours of battery life and weighs 1.02kg.
The pricing for Miix 320 starts at 269 Euros (Rs 19,000 approx) and for Miix 320 with LTE starts at 399 Euros (Rs 28,000 approx).
