MWC 2017: The Nokia 5 is a smaller version of the Nokia 6 and features a Snapdragon 430 with 2GB RAM

The Nokia 5 was unveiled today at Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, Spain. The phone is a slightly smaller, pocket-friendly version of the Nokia 6.

The Nokia 5 features a 5.2-inch IPS display with HD resolution (1280 x 720) and 2.5D glass. The screen is claimed to have a brightness of 500 nits. The device is powered by a Snapdragon 430 SoC and 2GB of RAM. Internal storage is 16GB but microSD cards up to 128GB in size are supported.

The cameras include a 13MP f/2.0 rear camera and an 8MP f/2.0 front camera with 84-degree FoV.

The phone supports 4G LTE , Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.1, though USB connectivity is limited to micro USB v2.0. A 3.5mm headphone jack is included.

The battery is a 3,000 mAh unit.

As with the Nokia 6, it’s not all about the specs, however. The phone is built from 6000 series aluminium and the antenna bands are placed at the top and bottom. This means that the rear of the phone is smooth and clean. This melds with the 2.5D glass to give you a phone that feels seamless, or so claims Nokia.

As with the other Nokia-Android phones, this one will feature a pure Android experience. This means no third-party skinning and clutter, real-time updates and more.

The phone will be available in Tempered Blue, Silver, Matte Black and Copper colours.

The device will ship worldwide in Q2 2017 for around EUR 189 (around Rs 14,000).
