Reliance Jio’s 100 million users make 200-crore minutes voice and video calls per day

At an event in Mumbai, Reliance Industries Chairman, Mukesh Ambani announced that Jio’s total subscriber base had crossed the 100 million mark. The 100 million subscriber base was achieved within just 170 days after launch.

The chairman of Reliance Industries at the event thanked the first 100 million users and then announced a new subscription plan that builds over the existing ones.

This new plan is called the Jio Prime Membership and will provide users with free calls, data and other services from Jio’s bouquet of apps (under the Happy New Year Offer) at a price of Rs 303 per month or just Rs 10 per day.

Getting into the specifics, Mukesh Ambani announced that Jio’s 100 million users make 200-core minutes of voice and video calls a day, which is a large number by any standard. The same calls consumed over 100 crore GB of data just in the month of January, hinting at the massive number of users who have gotten online and are taking advantage of the offers.

Enrollment for Reliance Jio Prime will start on 1 March and will go on till 31 March 2017. The users can use the MyJio app for Android or iOS or visit Jio.com to become a Jio Prime member. They can also visit Reliance Digital, Jio Retail Store or any Jio Partner Store to enroll for the membership.
