Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 to be available in Matte Black from 1 March

If you remember, at the time of its launch, Xiaomi said that it will introduce a special matte black variant of the Redmi Note 4 in a couple of months. Keeping to its promise, the Chinese company is bringing the special colour version of the budget handset to India on 1 March.

Currently the Redmi Note 4 is available in Gold, Grey, and Silver colour variants. However the new variant will be up for sale on Mi.com and Flipkart from next month onwards.

The Redmi Note 4 was launched in January and was announced in three memory configurations; 2GB RAM with 32GB storage, 3GB RAM with 32GB storage and 4GB RAM with 64GB storage. Hopefully the new black variant will be available in all three versions as well.

The smartphone features a 5.5-inch Full HD IPS LCD display on the front covered with a curved protective glass. The smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor which sounds like a step down from the Snapdragon 650, but is said to be more power efficient.

There is a new 13MP camera at the back with PDAF (phase detection auto focus) and a dual tone LED flash, while on the front there is a 5MP camera. Connectivity options include support for dual-SIM (hybrid SIM card slot), 4G with VoLTE, Bluetooth, WiFi, GPS with GLONASS, infrared sensor and a microUSB port.

Rounding it all off is a fingerprint scanner at the back, a 4,100mAh battery with Quick Charge and Android 6.0.1 based MIUI 8.
