After several video teasers, a leaked image of the upcoming Dodge Challenger SRT Demon has finally revealed what the car looks like. The SRT Demon is a rather extreme version of the Dodge Challenger that packs in plenty of horsepower with reduced weight that basically makes for some crazy quarter mile times on the drag strip and on the streets.
The image was first reported by Carscoops and comes from Wheelsage and showcases the beast in all its glory at a drag strip.
The SRT Demon looks the part and comes with wider wheel arches, aggressive and effect aero upgrades and a massive hoodscoop. Completing that look are 18-inch alloys with street-legal drag radials that are 12.6 inches wide at the back.
In terms of performance, the Demon will be 200 pounds lighter than the Hellcat and will come equipped with tuned suspension, drivetrain, transmission and a launch control system, that has been designed for straight-line performance.
Coming to the engine, expect the V8 to churn out 707 bhp and 880 Nm of torque (on normal fuel) and also run on 100+ octane race fuel on demand.
Additionally, the SRT Demon will also use its air conditioning system to chill the air cooler that should reduce the engine intake air temperature by up to 45 degrees Fahrenheit. The SRT Demon will be launched in a day’s time from now and will be make its debut at the upcoming New York Auto Show.
