Mass Effect: Andromeda: In-game conversation hints at potential story arc for DLC

Mass Effect: Andromeda is barely out and people are already finding clues about an upcoming DLC.

DLC (Downloadable Content) is a standard feature in games these days and is an excuse to extend the life of a game, but at a cost. DLC can take many forms. It can include additional weapons, skins, levels, and more. It can also be used to describe an additional story arc or some such gameplay feature that’s too small to be stand-alone game in itself.

EA is, much to its shame, the king of DLC and the fact that Mass Effect: Andromeda will have DLC is without question.

The latest rumours, however, hint at the type of DLC that is to come.

This rumour surrounds a conversation with Director Tann, a character in the game, which reveals that another ark, which was also headed for Andromeda, went missing. A signal from the ark is discovered, but rather than a distress beacon, it turns out that the ark is warning others from the Milky Way to stay away.

The conversation wasn’t followed through in its entirety and appears at the end of the game. As IGN points out, this does smell suspiciously of DLC.
