Micromax Bharat 2 smartphone with 4G VoLTE goes on sale for Rs 3,499

Indian smartphone maker Micromax has reportedly started selling a new budget 4G VoLTE smartphone called the Bharat 2. The company hasn’t officially announced the launch but a report suggests that the handset has started selling at brick and mortar stores.

A picure of the retail box shared by Mahesh Telecom reveals that the smartphone features a 4-inch WVGA (480×800) display, a 1.3GHz Speadtrum SC9832 quad-core processor, 512MB of RAM and just 4GB of inbuilt storage with a microSD card slot expansion slot the at supports up to 32GB. The smartphone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and its USP is support for 4G VoLTE networks including Reliance Jio.

Rest of the features of the Bharat 2 include a 2 MP rear camera with an LED flash, a 0.3 MP front camera for video chatting and taking selfies, a 1,300mAh battery while connectivity feautres include FM radio, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, and GPS. The smartphone is said to be selling in gold colour option. The smartphone is said to be selling at Rs 3,499 although the MRP on the box says Rs 3,750.

Micromax had mentioned earlier about the Bharat series smartphone but had not confirmed a timeframe for its launch. It seems that the company is going to silently launch them in the market.

The company recently announced its new flagship smartphone, Dual 5, with a dual camera setup at Rs 24,999 with a bunch of interesting features. The smartphone is scheduled to go on sale around 10 April.
