Tableau introduces subscription pricing on all its products

Tableau, one of the leading visual analytics companies, has started offering subscription pricing on all its products. Tableau Desktop, Tableau Server, and Tableau Online are now available with the new subscription models, allowing companies to use the cutting edge visual analytics tools without having to pay for a perpetual software license.

Adam Selipsky, President and CEO of Tableau said “Many customers have told us they prefer to purchase software through a subscription model to more easily access the products they want, reduce upfront expenses and increase flexibility. We have always been driven by the success of our customers, and with subscription pricing we’ll be even more aligned with our customer’s needs and further committed to earning their business every year.”

Tableau Desktop Standard Edition is available for $35 (roughly Rs 2,259) a month, while the Professional Edition is available for $70 (roughly Rs 4,519) a month. Tableau server is available for $35 (roughly Rs 2,259) a month, and Tableau online is available for $42 (roughly Rs 2,259) a month. All the subscription plans are billed annually, and there is a free trial period available for each product.

The subscription model is meant to lower the up-front investment needed to start using Tableau, as well as allow companies to scale their subscriptions as per requirement. Subscribers get complete access to the Tableau platform, as well as the software updates. The Tableau subscriptions can be deployed on premises, in the cloud, or in a hybrid setup.
