Xiaomi Mi 6 price spotted in the latest leak; the high end variant could be priced at CNY 3599

Xiaomi Mi 6 launch is expected this month, and there is no stopping the amount of leaks that are doing the rounds of the interwebs. In the latest leak, which comprise of screenshots of popular e-commerce website Jingdong, the price of the upcoming Xiaomi Mi 6 seems to have been leaked.

It has been established that there will be multiple variants of the Xioami Mi 6. The highest end variant may be priced at CNY 3599 (approx Rs 36,000) if the leaked screenshot is indeed true.

If indeed true, this would be the most expensive phone from Xiaomi. Frankly speaking, Xiaomi is known more for its aggressive price points, and CNY 3599 seems like quite a high price. One a feature which is extremely special and which has not been seen on its peers could justify this price on a Xiaomi smartphone.

Recently we saw leaks of the alleged Xiaomi Mi 6 boxes which also hinted at two different variants. The specifications for the first variant includes a 5.15-inch display, Snapdragon 835 processor clocked at 2.45GHz, 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. For the cameras there is a 30MP sensor with optical image stabilisation at the back and an 8MP camera on the front. The box also mentions a 4,000mAh battery, dual SIM slots, and a USB Type-C port.

The second box which is the white one, mentions a 5.15-inch display with a 2.5D glass, a Snapdragon 835 processor with no mention of the clock speed. RAM on this version is 3GB while storage is 64GB. Even the camera is different, as the box mentions a 12MP rear shooter and a 4MP ultra pixel sensor on the front just like the Mi 5. Even the battery is smaller rating at 3,200mAh.

There have been reports that the handset could come in a variety of chipset variants. But Xiaomi mobile’s official Weibo page has given a hint that one of them will be a Snapdragon 835.

Also, there has been a leak of a potential case for the Mi 6. The leaked case has rounded edges and corners. Also, the holes for the camera give a hint that it could include a dual rear camera system. The leaked images of the case also have a comparison with a Samsung Galaxy S6 which confirms that the Mi 6 will have a 5-1 or a 5.2-inch display size.
