MWC 2017: Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ specification sheets leak before launch

The Galaxy S8 and the S8+ are expected to make an appearance at Mobile World Congress in just a couple of days, however sources claim that they will be officially announced at a special event in April. But before that we have some information which gives a good idea about the two upcoming flagship smartphones.

According to a leaked specifications sheet by Techno Buffalo, the Galaxy S8 will feature a 5.8-inch QHD+ Super AMOLED display, 4GB of RAM, IP68 dust and water resistance, 12MP dual-pixel camera, 8MP front camera, an iris scanner, 64GB of expandable memory, Samsung Pay, wireless charging, and bundled earphones tuned by AKG.

A similar looking spec sheet was recently tweeted by Evan Blass, who is known for his smartphone leaking skills. The Galaxy S8+ will have a larger 6.2-inch display with the rest of the features identical to the Galaxy S8.

This is great news as Samsung, unlike last year, will be providing the same set of features in different form factors. On the other hand, Apple offers a better camera on the iPhone 7 Plus than the iPhone 7, forcing consumers to make a compromise if they want a small form factor.

Having said that, Samsung is taking a big step this year with such large displays. Of course, we have seen in a number of leaked images and renders as to how slim the bezels will be, but considering the Galaxy S7 was a 5.1-inch smartphone, jumping to a 5.8-inch display might not appeal to everyone.
