WhatsApp beta for iOS points to new Group Info UI in coming update

WhatsApp has been pushing out plenty of updates to its iOS app, but with most of them being security patches and bug fixes, a true update that adds new features to the messenger is rare indeed. With that said, there is a new update coming and while it is nothing substantial, it does bring something new to the Group Info page.

According to @WABetaInfo, WhatsApp has spruced up its old and boring Group Info page to make it attractive and user-friendly. The new Group Info page brings a revamped user interface (UI) that includes new icons like its did with an older update to the Settings page within the iOS app.

The new update brings colourful new icons that should make it easier to find options and features in the Group Info page. The icons carry a theme that is similar to the one found in the Settings tab, which was recently revamped.

It bids goodbye to the spartan interface which has dominated the section for years (considering how frequent WhatsApp UI updates on iOS are). Still then, something is better than nothing and Group Admins would be more than happy to see the change the UI.

A recent WhatsApp beta update in March also hinted at support for iOS’ rich notifications that let you react to a notification (with images and more) without the need to get into the main app. Hopefully these two will come bundled in the upcoming update as well.
